Overview

MAKE UP FOR EVER is looking for a Head Make Up Artist. Based in Dallas, TX and reporting to the Boutique Manager, Northpark, this role is responsible for assisting the Boutique Manager in driving sales through the day-to-day management and development of the Boutique Tribe. Primary responsibilities include day-to-day coaching and education on products and service to achieve sales goals, organization and roll out of Make Up Mastery classes, artistry coaching and development for the tribe.

Responsibilities

SALES

  • Achieves MAKE UP FOR EVER sales plans
  • Strategically drive sales/KPIs through development of quarterly business plan with an entrepreneurial mindset in partnership with the Boutique Manager
  • Monitors and analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly sales trends and results, reacts appropriately
  • Manages Resident Makeup Artist daily activity to ensure all productivity standards are met and to perform in the moment coaching as necessary.
  • Manages Make Up Mastery program, engaging tribe to book, assist and follow up with MUM attendees.
  • Ensures that staff engages all customers with enthusiasm, educates on product, determines customers’ needs, provides courteous & knowledgeable 360 service to customers. 

COACHING AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Ensures that consistent brand communication and product information is being provided to all MAKE UP FOR EVER customers.
  • Periodically reviews and coordinates in-store trainings for all Resident Make Up Artists with a focus on MAKE UP FOR EVER education, product knowledge and artistry techniques. 
  • Conducts in the moment coaching and monitors sales and service levels of all MAKE UP FOR EVER staff
  • Develops and conducts appraisals of Make Up Artists’ performance by evaluating selling skills and productivity 

ARTISTRY and EDUCATION

  • Motivates and coaches the Resident Make Up Artists and ensures that they follow the MAKE UP FOR EVER artistry and selling techniques.
  • Coordinates with Education team to conduct in-store trainings for all Resident Make Up Artists with a focus on MAKE UP FOR EVER product knowledge and artistry techniques
  • Coordinates staff and artistry efforts for special events within the boutique
  • Takes the lead role on sales training, product knowledge and artistry education with the Resident Make Up Artists in partnership with the Boutique Manager 

OPERATIONS

  • Oversees presentation, cleanliness and organization, including drawers, back-stock and product assortment
  • Ensures that MAKE UP FOR EVER’s merchandising standards are maintained at all times.
  • Adheres to and oversees compliance of Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company property, inventory management, personnel practices, security, record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the store
  • Coordinates with PR and Pro teams to maintain industry relationships with local TV, film and stage productions, makeup schools and agencies, and other industry businesses
  • Maintains a strong line of communication with the MAKE UP FOR EVER corporate management, communicating feedback on new and current products.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree
  • 3 + years’ experience as a professional and / or freelance make-up artist
  • Exceptional Make Up Artistry Skills
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Availability to work the hours necessary to open and/or close the store
  • Ability to maintain presence on selling floor for long periods as needed
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of merchandise up to 50 lbs. as well as, fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and climbing ladders
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
  • Availability to travel, as needed
