    MAKE UP FOR EVER is looking for a Boutique Manager, Pro Studio. Based in New York and reporting to the Senior Manager, Pro Division, this person will manage and provide leadership to the MAKE UP FOR EVER staff with the ability to cater to both Pro and Public Consumers. As the leader of the store, this person will be responsible for managing sales, operations, handling employee relations issues, coaching and developing, visual merchandising, and loss prevention.


    • Manages and leads team of Resident Make Up Artists and is ultimately responsible for driving sales of MAKE UP FOR EVER within the Studio.
    • Monitors and analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly sales trends and results, reacts appropriately, and communicates to appropriate staff.
    • Responsible for managing activities, training seminars, and events in both the free-standing boutique and the mezzanine training space.
    • Responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the Studio by training and developing tribe on selling skills, keeping in mind an experience tailored to Pros.
    • Manages and oversees all functions of the Assistant Boutique Manager including all in-store trainings of MAKE UP FOR EVER Resident Make Up Artists as well as the external trainings within the training space.
    • Maintains a strong line of communication with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Team. 
    • Achieves MAKE UP FOR EVER sales plans and operating profits while maintaining expenses. 
    • Manages Resident Make Up Artists activity to ensure all productivity standards are met by establishing strong teamwork and achievement of sales goals.
    • Conducts spot coaching and monitors performance of all MAKE UP FOR EVER Studio staff.
    • Periodically reviews and coordinates in-store trainings for all Resident Make Up Artists with a focus on MAKE UP FOR EVER education, product knowledge and artistry techniques. 
    • Ensures that MAKE UP FOR EVER’s merchandising standards are maintained at all times.
    • Ensures that consistent brand communication and product information is being provided to all MAKE UP FOR EVER customers where applicable.
    • Oversees presentation, cleanliness and organization, including drawers, back-stock and product assortment.
    • Oversees the replenishment process, inventory control, and the maintenance, set up, and review of MAKE UP FOR EVER’s animation and updates.
    • Adheres to and oversees compliance of Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company property, inventory management, personnel practices, security, record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the store.
    • Conducts regular inventory cycle counts and coordinates replenishment efforts with MAKE UP FOR EVER Operations & communicates any stock level issues to appropriate people.
    • Negotiates and executes special events with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro and Corporate team.
    • Conducts regular store meetings to discuss performance, sales training, product knowledge, visual merchandising, and conveys other necessary information to staff.
    • Develops and conducts appraisals of Make Up Artists’ performance by evaluating selling skills and productivity.
    • Oversees the process of the scheduling of staff and ensures compliance with payroll budgets. Coordinates calendar for both the Studio and the training space. 
    • Coordinates with PR and Pro teams to maintain industry relationships, liaising with local TV, film and stage productions, makeup schools and agencies, and other industry businesses. 
    • Develops and communicates calendar of local industry events, trade shows, and professional networking opportunities.
    • Contributes to corporate social networking programs through ongoing communication with New York office and the PR Dept.
    • When necessary, recruits and interviews new staff.
    • Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by Director of Pro Business or MAKE UP FOR EVER Corporate.


    • 3+ years of retail store management, preferably in a cosmetics product setting, and in a free-standing store
    • 1+ years of People development and customer service
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
    • Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Availability to work the hours necessary to open and/or close the store
    • Ability to maintain presence on selling floor for long periods as needed
    • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above
    • Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
    • Availability to travel, as needed
